Senior Master Sergeant Daniel Joseph Hamilton of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed peacefully on June 11, 2012 at Hannibal Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Oakwood, MO, he graduated from Hannibal High School in 1955, and attended Hannibal LaGrange Junior College and later Kirksville State Teachers College. He PROUDLY served as a goodwill and peace ambassador in the United States Air Force Bands throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia for over 28 ½ years until his retirement at Robins AFB, GA. Upon retirement he and Jonann, his wife of 53 years, enjoyed world traveling. They would embark on several adventures each year, visiting family and friends in Missouri and across the states, and hopping flights overseas at every opportunity, enjoying all of the sites and tastes along the way. Music was always a major part of his life and he served as the E-mail list manager for the United States Musicians Association. He also enjoyed restoring classic cars, scuba diving, shun piking and hunting for elusive morel mushrooms. Family was very important to Danny and Jonann and they had big gatherings at their house usually every month. His large family shared a rare and special gift of enjoying time together. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Lowell and Etta Hamilton and is survived by his wife Jonann (Pritchett), formally of Frankford, MO., his son David (Donna), his daughters Dawn (Chuck Adams), Christy (Brian Bainter), and Barbara (Mike Stewart) all of Warner Robins, GA, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Larry (Joann) of Hannibal, MO and Jerry (Esther) of San Antonio, TX and countless others who loved him. A Memorial Celebration will be held for friends and family, Wednesday, June 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00 at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. There will also be a memorial celebration held in Warner Robins, GA at a later date.
