Clarence Archie Bogue

Clarence Archie Bogue, 90, of Hannibal, MO. passed away at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Beth Haven Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Pastor Brian Ninedorf will officiate. Burial will be in the Salt Lick Cemetery in Spalding, Mo. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Clarence was born February 4, 1924, the son of Samuel Martin and Cora Jane (Rosson) Bogue. He married Helen Alexander on June 25, 1998, in New London, Mo. She survives him. Survivors include his wife, Helen Alexander Bogue of Hannibal, Mo; one sister, Edith Gooch of Dove Creek, Co; three step-sons, Russell E. Alexander (Rickey) of Huntington, Mo., Allen J. Alexander (Linda Sue) of Oklahoma City, Ok., and Wm. Mark Alexander (Lori) of Center, Mo; five step-daughters, Joyce Drebes of Hannibal, Mo., Sue Foote of Hannibal, Mo., Janie Johnson (Dick) of Perry, Mo., Kathy Woodhurst of Perry, Mo., and Barbara Saul (Kevin) of New London, Mo; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bogue was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Robert, and four sisters, Viva, Lillie, Gertrude and Grace. Clarence was a graduate of Rensselaer High School, and worked as a lifelong Ralls County farmer and stockman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Bogue was a lifelong member of Salt Lick Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. Pallbearers will be Wm. Mark Alexander, Russell E. Alexander, Dick Johnson, Kevin Saul, David Jackson DDS, and Andy Woollen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Promise Foundation, in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
