Professionally Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver at Continental Cement for thirty-seven years before retiring in 2010. He previously served on the Hannibal Police Department after return from Vietnam. Bill was a proud member of the American Legion, Post #55 where he served on the Honor Guard. He could often be found watching t.v, with old westerns being his favorite. Countless hours were spent out in the great outdoors doing what he loved, which was fishing, deer hunting and mushroom hunting. When Bill wasn't outdoors, you could find him working on puzzles and cryptoquotes. Bill was known to have a sweet tooth and if he wasn't drinking coffee, he would have a Diet Pepsi. Mowing grass and car rides around Hannibal and to the river front were things Bill and Helen enjoyed doing when time allowed.
Bill was a member of Fifth Street Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Alan Wayne Epperson, Kerry Lee, Blake Beaston and Bob Williams.
