Charles Wayne Riney

Charles Wayne Riney, 72, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 9:57 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at his home. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the First Christian Church of Hannibal. Pastor Steve Barker will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014, at the First Christian Church with a Masonic service to be held at 8:00 p.m. The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Charles was born on February 19, 1942, in Hannibal, MO the son of Leo W. and Aleeta Mae (Reser) Riney. He married Kathryn Bagley on December 27, 1970. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Riney of the home; three children, David W. Riney, and Anne E. Riney both of Lees Summit, MO, and Dwight W. Riney (Joanna) of Bentonville, AR; two grandchildren, Leo W. and Zachary A. Riney; one brother, Robert E. Riney of St. Louis, MO and one sister, Jane A. Willmann of Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Riney was preceded in death by his parents. Charles attended Hannibal Public Schools where he graduated in 1960. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. Charles was a licensed Professional Engineer. He was employed by the L.W. Riney Company, the Charles W. Riney Company and Central Stone Company. Charles was a member of several professional engineering organizations including the National and Missouri Societies of Professional Engineers. He was a 50 year member of the American Concrete Institute. Charles was a 50 year member of the Hannibal Masonic Lodge #188 AF&AM, Scottish Rite of St. Louis, and Moolah Temple of St. Louis. He was also a member of the York Rite Masonry. Charles enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Mr. Riney was a life-long member of the Hannibal First Christian Church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
