Charles Wayne Cox, 82, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 7:41 AM Monday, April 25, 2016, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Graveside services with full military honors provided by the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Grand View Burial Park. The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. There will be no visitation held. Charles was born October 16, 1933, in Glendale, AZ the son of Calvin John and Leona Alice (Follis) Cox. He was married to Ann Jones on May 16, 1958, in Phoenix, AZ, and she preceded him in death on January 8, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Devmond Cox (Tonya) of Hannibal, MO and Timothy Cox (Faye) of Georgia; three daughters, Diane Spencer (Donnie) of Grove, OK, Cathy Seaton (David) of Jay, OK and Cristie White (Randall) of Jay, OK; fourteen grandchildren, Jennifer Carpenter, Cortney Cox, Jesse White, Justin Skiles, Josh Skiles, Karen Thoel Melanie Seaton, Jamie Eberle, Autumn freeman Diane Tedder, Brad Spencer, Kim Spencer Brandon Spencer and Bobby Seaton; several great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by four brothers. Charles had previously worked at Manchester Tank, Goodyear and Walmart. Mr. Cox enjoyed working and gardening. Charles was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and watching Jimmy Swaggart of Sunday mornings. Charles was a member of Tabernacle of Praise Church in Hannibal. Pallbearers will be Josh Skiles, Justin Skiles, Jesse White, Andrew Carpenter, Michael Golian and Marvin Golian. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral arrangements, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
