Carol L Erickson, age 75, of Valley, AL passed away at 2:30 pm Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Valley, AL .
A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026 at 10 am at Grand View Burial Park. Pastor Scott Hawes will be officiating.
Visitation celebrating Carol L Erickson will be held on Friday May 8, 2026 at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel from 5 to 7pm.
Carol was born on July 14, 1950, in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Dudley Henry and Marietta (Huffman) Willis.
She was united in marriage to Edwin Severin Erickson on June 6, 1970 in Hannibal, MO. He precedes her in death
Survivors include, her son, Scott Erickson (Lisa); her daughters, Stacey Cooper (Matt) and Sarah Stone (Guy) and her grandkids, Blake, Caleb, Jonah, Emma, Charlotte, Sophie, Benjamin, Arionna, Ryan, Elix, Emmett, Severin, Jude and Serena.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers, Bob Willis and Don Willis and her sister Mary Hudleson.
Carol was a member of South Side Baptist Church in Hannibal, MO for the longest time and then when she moved to Florida, she attended Bay Shore Baptist Church.
Carol will be remembered for her kind heart and the joy she found in caring for others. She loved to crochet and sew, often creating with her hands as a way to show love to those around her. While living in Florida, she generously gave her time helping at a homeless shelter, always putting others before herself. Carol also found peace in reading and treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and family. Her warmth, compassion, and devotion to those she loved will never be forgotten.
Honorary Pallbearers are Blake, Caleb, Jonah, Ryan, Elix, and Emmett.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Side Baptist Church in Hannibal, MO, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
