Brad Cox, age 49, of Ashley, MO passed away at 9:49 pm Thursday, April 18, 2024, in his father's home in Hannibal, MO.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. There are no services planned at this time.

Brad was born on March 5, 1975, in Hannibal, Missouri the son of Jim and Barbara (Mehler) Cox.

Survivors include his father, Jim Cox of Hannibal, MO, wife, Tara Cox of Ashley, MO, son, Jesse Cox of Ashley, MO; daughter, Lacey Slates (Jake) of Wentzville, MO; three granddaughters, Evelyn, Eleanor, Emersyn; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara, and an infant sister, Giget Marie.

Professionally Brad worked as a Truck Driver and was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 682 and International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 676.

Brad grew up on the farm in Ashley, MO, and was a hard worker his whole life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, building trucks, wood working, welding, and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix, or improve. He was skilled to do just about everything when it came to working with his hands. And if a neighbor needed a hand, Brad was there to help. Brad had a huge heart, was patient, kind, and even though he had a large stature, he was a teddy bear, especially to those he loved and held dear. He had an infectious smile, and was a good son, husband, and father.

Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers to the Hannibal Nutrition Center and the Community Loving Care Hospice in Bowling Green, MO. in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
