Betty F. Martin

Betty F. Martin, 86, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Pastor Bob Seaman and Rev. Carole Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Betty was born December 17, 1928, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Herbert L. and Ruth A. (Thomas) Rigg, Sr. She married Edgar Aaron Martin on July 12, 1953, in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2014. Survivors include, two sons, Daniel Martin (Carole) of Kingsport, TN and David Martin (David Hardy) of Albuquerque, NM; one brother, Herbert L. Rigg, Jr. (Ilene) of Maryland Heights, MO; two grandchildren, Cara Copple and Matthew Martin; and two great grandchildren, Virginia Copple and Robert Copple. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Martin graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1947. She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Memorials may be made to Park United Methodist Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
