Bernard Foehringer, 88, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Hannibal, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at Englewood Community Hospital. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Grand View Burial Park, Rev. Dr. Stephen Adkison officiating. There will be no visitation. Smith Funeral Home & Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Bernard was born June 29, 1924 in Hannibal. He married Carolyn Morris, June 29, 1947 who survives. On their anniversary they would had celebrated 66 years of marriage. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Nada S. Wheelock Foehringer of Hannibal. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard B. (Dick) Foehringer and one brother, Charles L. Foehringer. Bernard was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. After the service he worked for Harris Chevrolet and Appliance in Hannibal . He later was self employed as Foehringer Appliance and Refrigeration. Following retirement the Foehringers moved to Englewood. Memorials may be made to the Hannibal High School Band in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
