Barbara Rae Wendt McAfee, 60, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 12:10 AM Saturday, February 6, 2016, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Barbara was born May 16, 1955, in Owatonna, MN the daughter of Ray and Patricia (Love) Wendt. She was married to John "Andy" McAfee on May 24, 1975, in Hannibal, MO. Survivors include her husband of 40 years John "Andy" McAfee of the home; mother, Patricia Wendt of Hannibal, MO; two daughters, Amanda "Amy" McAfee Whittaker and husband Delmar and Megan McAfee Bramblett and husband Cody all of Hannibal, MO; grandchildren, Hailey, Gracey, Trey, Tanner and Brody; mother-in-law, Erma Jean McAfee of Hannibal, MO; brother-in-law E.L. "Bud" McAfee (Sarah) of Hannibal, MO; nephews, Chad McAfee (Shanda), Kevin McAfee (Stephanie), Lance McAfee (Heather) and Adam McAfee; niece Stephanie Green (Kenny); and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Mrs. McAfee was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Eldon L. McAfee and one sister, Margaret Ann Wendt. Barbara graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1973. Barb always enjoyed fashion. She was known for her love and passion of jewelry and clothing. She was a member in the Eula Mainland King's Daughters and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Barb enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to their home in Florida during the winter months. Barbara also enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends at her home. Most of all Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Barbara was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Chad McAfee, Cody Bramblett, Delmar Whittaker, Trey Whittaker, Tanner Whittaker and Kevin McAfee. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud McAfee, Lance McAfee and Adam McAfee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society or American Cancer Society, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
