Barbara L. Garrett, age 74, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 5:40 pm Thursday, January 23, 2025, at DePaul Health Center.

The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Barbara was born on February 7, 1950, in Long Beach, CA, the daughter of Jack and Novella (Stewart) Crumal.

She was united in marriage to Lewis Garrett on September 9, 1978. Lewis preceded her in death on November 6, 2010.

Survivors include her two sons, Marc Garrett of the home and Richard Garrett of CA; daughter, Laura Prien (Aaron) of CA; sister, Shanna Krist (Mark) of CA; two grandchildren, Julien Prien and Jack Henry Garrett and her cousin Kristen Garrett

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Barbara graduated from High School and went on to further her education at University of California then went on to Downing Institute for Hypnotherapy and Light Therapy. Barbara was employed as a counselor and helped her husband Lewis in his chiropractic business.

Barbara was a cherished member of the Hannibal Arts Council, where she passionately contributed to the local art community. She was an astonishing painter and cherished arts to the fullest.

Barbara had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of activities that brought her joy and fulfillment. She loved landscaping, boating, and hiking, often spending her weekends exploring the great outdoors. Gardening was another passion of hers, where she found peace and creativity. Above all, Barbara cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories with those she loved.
