Ann Marie King Swanson, 87, of Hannibal, died October 2, 2016 at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
She was born March 22, 1929, in Hannibal to Mitchell Shadrick and Harry E. King. She was married to George "Skip" Swanson. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1993.
Survivors include one brother, Harry J. King of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Elizabeth Becher of Casper, Wyoming; Harriet King of Katy, Texas; and one nephew, Kurt King of Scottsdale, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mrs. Swanson graduated from Hannibal High School in 1947 and acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Chemistry from Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville in 1951. She taught school in the Hannibal area before going to work for the Hannibal Woodworking Company for a short period of time. She retired from Bleigh Construction as an office manager after 30 plus years. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling, gardening, traveling, and playing bridge with friends.
The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. The family will hold a private service at a later date.
