Allen David Layfield, age 58, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 10:36 am Monday, July 22, 2024,  at his sister's home in Quincy, IL.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 25, 2024, in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Chaplain Jerry Eidson will officiate.

The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal.

Allen was born on July 26, 1965, in Miami, FL the son of David and Linda (Dotson) Layfield.

Survivors include his daughter, Mindy Dunbar; sister, Angel Layfield (Steve Beasley) of Quincy, IL;  two granddaughters, Madalyn Dunbar and Imelia Dunbar;  grandson, Waylon Wolf and great-grandson, Henry Dunbar. Also surviving are Allen's two nieces, Paige Obrock, Cheyenne Rigg and nephew, Christian Rigg along with numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Allen spent many hours "tinkering" on cars while listening to his favorite 80's music.  He was just as much an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan as a Miami Dolphins fan.  Spending time with family and friends were some of Allen's most cherished times.

Professionally, Allen worked as a welder.

The family would like to thank Blessing Hospice for the care given to Allen during his illness.

Allen was a Christian by faith.
