Roger Dean Huff, 66, of Center, MO passed away at 6:43 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2018, at Center Baptist Church in Center, MO. Rev. Jim Shaver will officiate. Full military honors provided by the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 will follow the service at the church. Interment will be held at a later date in the Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Center Baptist Church.
The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, in Hannibal.
Roger was born on June 23, 1951, in Richland, WA to Arlie and Emma Haden Huff.
He was married to Betty Ann Carter on January 2, 1970, in Center, MO. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2014.
Surviving are two children, Chad Huff (Judy) and Laura Hummel (Brian) both of Center, MO; three grandchildren, Alexis Hummel, Carter Hummel and Roger Allen Huff all of Center, MO; two brothers, Mike Huff (the late Mary Gay Huff) and John Huff (Karen) both of New London, MO. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1971-1972 during the Vietnam War. Roger was a member of Union Local 581 of Hannibal, MO which later merged with St. Louis Local 562 Pipefitters & Plumbers for 48 years. Mr. Huff also pastored at several churches around the area before retiring from Pea Ridge Community Church in June of 2017.
Roger cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting and fishing.
Roger was a member of Pea Ridge Community Church.
