Lawrence Steibel Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Wendell Steibel, 86, of Hannibal, MO passed away 1:30 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Beth Haven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Pastor Tom Lemons will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will held 9:00 AM until the service Monday at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Lawrence was born July 30, 1929, in Racine WI the son of Lawrence William and Lillian (Goebel) Steibel.

He was married to Elenora Aldrich on July 22, 1961, in Kenosha WI. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2016.

Survivors include one half brother, Brian Gerhke and wife Marlene of Racine, WI and special family friends, Kenny and Karen Glascock of Hannibal, MO.

Mr. Steibel was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elenora.

Larry worked as a sheet metal worker at Racine Industrial, Inc. before retirement and relocating to Hannibal.

Lawrence and Elenora met at a dance hall in Racine, WI. They both had a passion for country music and dancing. Every Friday night Larry and Elenora would travel to Frankford, MO to the Wagon Wheel Opry House to enjoy the music and Dancing. After the Wagon Wheel closed down Larry and Elenora would go to the Junction in Perry, MO for music and dancing.

Larry also enjoyed working and in his spare time would enjoy fishing, gardening and woodworking.

Mr. Steibel was as member of the First United Methodist Church in Hannibal.
