Kenneth Hudelson Obituary

Kenneth Dean Hudelson, 74, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Arch United Methodist Church. Rev. David Scott will officiate. Burial with full military honors provided by the Emmett J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at Arch United Methodist Church.

The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Kenny was born on May 25, 1943, in Hannibal, MO the son of Claude and Minnie (Dixon) Hudelson, Sr.

He was united in marriage to Mary Shepherd on April 19, 1981, in Hannibal, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; five children, Shane Hudelson (Tara) of King George, VA, Brenton Hudelson of Winfield, MO, Angela Guccione (Chris) of O'Fallon, MO, Justin Hudelson (Suzette) of New London, MO, and Tyson Wilburn (Rose) of Hannibal, MO; three siblings, Richard Hudelson (Mary Ann), Jerry Hudelson, and Marilyn Peer all of Hannibal, MO; nine grandchildren, Erin Hudelson, Alexandra Hudelson, Samuel Guccione, Timothy Guccione, Ethan Guccione, Jaylyn Hudelson, Jocelyn Hudelson, Ella Wilburn and Christian Wilburn; two brothers-in-law, Fred Shepherd (Kay) of Festus, MO and Dale Shepherd (Sally) of Ellisville, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hudelson was preceded in death by ten siblings, Claude Hudelson, Jr., Norma Ellis, Helen Ellison, Bobby Hudelson, Maxine Herring, Mary Ann Riley, Darrell Hudelson, Betty Day, Donald Hudelson, and Caroline Knepp.

Kenny graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Hudelson was retired from BASF where he worked as a board operator.
The simple things of life are what Kenny enjoyed the most; especially hunting, fishing, camping and even cutting wood. He also enjoyed traveling with Mary and their trip to Alaska was one of his highlights.

Kenny's family was what he treasured the most and the time spent with his grandchildren was precious to him.

Mr. Hudelson was a member of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 and a member of Arch United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Shane Hudelson, Brenton Hudelson, Justin Hudelson, Tyson Wilburn, Chris Guccione and Samuel Guccione.

Honorary pallbearers will be Erin Hudelson, Alexandra Hudelson, Timothy Guccione, Ethan Guccione, Jaylyn Hudelson, Jocelyn Hudelson, Ella Wilburn and Christian Wilburn.

Memorial contributions may be made to Arch United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
