Janet Mercado Obituary
Janet Ann Mercado, 62, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Quincy, IL, passed away at 10:38 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Heritage Care Center of Berkeley in St. Louis, MO.
Visitation will be held 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, in Hannibal, MO.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy, IL.
Janet was born on February 25, 1953, in Quincy, IL the daughter of Gilberto and Natalie (Yager) Mercado Soto. She was helped raised by her grandparents, Paul and Ada Yager. Janet was never married.
Survivors include her mother Natalie Mercado of Hazelwood, MO; two sisters, Marsha Norton (Mark) of St. Charles, MO and Pamela Archer of Clearwater, FL; two brothers, Victor Mercado (Luobov) of Sarasota, FL and Eric Mercado of St. Clair, MO; aunts and uncles, Edward and Donna Yager, John and Ruth Yager and Pauline and Harry Nichols and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Miss Mercado was preceded in death by her grandparents.
As a young girl Janet attended St. Johns' Episcopal Church at 7th and Hampshire in Quincy. Janet biggest desire in life was serving the Lord through ministry. She enjoyed attending church service every chance she was able. Janet loved reading, especially her Bible and enjoyed horses and dogs. Her biggest love was spending time with her family.
Pallbearers will be Brad Yager, Chad Yager, Mark Norton and Shawn Harmon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
