James Michael Smith

James Michael Smith, age 43, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 6:00 am Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Willow Care Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.  Pastor Michael Niffen will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, MO.

Visitation celebrating James' life will be held 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday October 15, 2021 at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

James was born on November 29, 1977, in Hannibal, MO the son of Harold and Darlene (Adams) Smith.

Survivors include his sister, Denise Brinkley (Larry) of Blue Springs, MO; two brothers, Harold Wayne Smith, Jr. (Christina). of Santa Fe, MO and  Jason Wayne Smith (Ashley) of Hannibal, MO. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents; Harold and Lesta Adams and paternal grandparents; Harold and Ella Mae Smith.

James graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1997.

Professionally James worked at General Mills and truly loved his job there. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life such as driving around in his truck, going to Branson and playing on the computer.  He also enjoyed building model cars.  James was a fan of  football and  an even bigger fan of listening to St. Louis Cardinal and Chicago Cubs games.

James was a Christian by faith.

Pallbearers will be  Harold Wayne Smith Jr., Jason Wayne Smith, Larry Brinkley, Annaiah Smith, Kaitlin Harris and Thomas Brokes.
