Danny Woodson Obituary
Danny Lee Woodson, 66, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 1:25 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 1, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Fr. Mike Quinn will officiate.
A memorial gathering in honor of Danny will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall following the service.
There will be no visitation held.
The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Danny was born on July 2, 1949, in Hannibal, MO the son of Earl M. and Barbara Elizabeth (Pipkin) Woodson.
He was previously married to Christine Hendricks of Hannibal, MO, mother of Danny's two daughters, Michelle Schwanke (Jeff) of Palmyra, MO and Tanya Woodson (Michael Dahlor) of Oak Grove, MO. Danny is also survived by six grandchildren, Lakyn and Carter Schwanke, Kristen, Jacob, Collin, and Cameron Goessling; three nieces and one nephew and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodson was preceded in death by an infant brother and one brother, Roy Woodson.
Danny attended Hannibal High School. He had worked as a surveyor and various other jobs until his health had forced him to retire.
Danny was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 907. Danny had served in various capacities within the Knights of Columbus from Grand Knight to currently serving as Trustee. Mr. Woodson had also served at the state level within the Knights of Columbus.
Danny was a fixture at the Knights of Columbus Hall. He could be found there every afternoon enjoying happy hour with his friends and watching his favorite sports team on TV. Danny enjoyed the simple treasures in life, from playing a game of pitch, fishing at his river camp or just listening to music.
Danny will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Hannibal Knights of Columbus Council 907 members.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hannibal Knights of Columbus Council 907, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
