Donna Kay Encalade, 57, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 4:45 AM Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO.
A memorial celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Genesis Bible Church in Hannibal. Pastor Doug Mahsman will officiate.
The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal.
Donna was born on May 17, 1962, in Amarillo, TX the daughter of John and Kay (Evans) Bogue.
Donna was the daughter of the late Ronnie Gourley and survived by her mother and step-father John and Kay Bogue of Hannibal, MO; sons, Dr. Cody Dimak and wife MaryAnne of Dallas, TX, Chandler Encalade and wife Stephanie of Covington, LA; step-son, Jason Dimak of Boothville, LA; sisters, Rona Fello and husband Bob of Grapevine, TX, Wende Cammack of Smyrna, GA; step-sister, Buffy Gourley of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, John Beaux Encalade and Madeline Jane Dimak; step-grandchildren, Kelsi, Sailey, Tianna and Alyna; and several nieces and nephews.
Donna worked security in the oil fields in Texas before her health forced her to retire. Away from work, Donna enjoyed fishing, Cajun cooking was her specialty and cherishing moments spent with her children and grandchildren.
Donna was a faithful believer in the Lord. She loved to share her belief and faith in Christ with everyone. Ms. Encalade was a very active member of Genesis Bible Church while living in Hannibal.
Donna had a generous heart and would open her door to anyone in need. She carried many titles throughout her life from daughter to mother but being Nana was the joy of her life. Donna will be missed by many who called her “friend” and her love of God and contagious smile will be missed by all.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesis Bible Church or Gideons International, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
