Penny May (Jennett) Lyle

Penny May Lyle, age 60, of Quincy, IL passed away at 8:15 pm Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Mt. Sterling Health & Rehab.  

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

The family will host a memorial service at a later date.

Penny was born on August 24, 1963, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Donald and Rosa May (Wickell) Jennett.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Lyle. He survives her.

In addition to her husband, Penny is survived by her mother, Rosa Mae Jennett of Hannibal, MO; son, Michael Yakes of New London, MO; two daughters, Nicole Jennett of Hannibal, MO and Krista Saben of Hannibal, MO; one brother, Kevin Jennett of Hannibal, MO and one sister, Sheila Jennett of Hannibal, MO.

Other survivors include her nine grandchildren, Christopher, Gemma, Mikey, Paisley, Noah, Ariya, Bennett, Hatti and Andrew.

She was preceded in death by father, Donald Jennett.

Penny graduated from high school and went to attend college, earning her LPN degree. 

Professionally Penny worked in local nursing homes and also in home health care.

Away from work, Penny enjoyed reading, gardening, her cats and collecting dolls.  Penny was an avid collector of cow and sunflower decor. A way to sit back and relax was watching t.v., with I Love Lucy, westerns and soap operas being her top shows to watch.

Penny loved spending time with her family and was known to spoil her grandkids. She will be missed by all who knew her.
