JoAnn was born on November 5, 1929, in Hannibal, MO. She was the daughter of Roy and Juanita (Graves) Loehrke. She was Baptized in Big Creek Presbyterian Church and carried to the alter by her Granny Stolte along with her parents.

She attended Rowe School and Rensselaer School. She was in the last graduating high school class at Rensselaer.

On November 16, 1947, JoAnn married her Rensselaer High School Sweetheart, Donald Jackson at Big Creek Presbyterian Church in Rensselaer, MO.

JoAnn lived on the family farm all of her life until moving with Donald to Maple Lawn Nursing Home in 2006. Prior to moving to the nursing home, JoAnn was first and foremost a homemaker and mother.  In later years she was an Insurance Agent and a caregiver for her husband Donald.

While at Maple Lawn, JoAnn made many friends and enjoyed the activities provided especially the church services, music programs and of course, Bingo. She spent hundreds of hours "painting" with her markers and she loved collecting Owls.

JoAnn leaves behind two daughters, Linda (Glenn) Schaefer of Hannibal, MO and Janet (Raymond) Taylor of Palmyra, MO; three grandchildren, Cherie (Jeff) Seyfarth of Centerton, AR, Brandy (Dave) Goodwin of O'Fallon, IL and Scott (Joyce) Schaefer of Centerton, AR; seven great grandchildren, Coltin (Danielle) Seyfarth, Devin Seyfarth, Tristan Goodwin, Kaeli Goodwin, Drew Schaefer, Elijah Schaefer and Patience (EJ) Johnson; and two great-great granddaughters, Amari McPike and Scottie Seyfarth.

Pallbearers will be JoAnn's Great Grandchildren and Honorary Pallbearers will be her Great-Great Granddaughters.
