Marilyn Elliff Obituary

Marilyn May (Simms) Elliff, 65, of Columbia, Mo. formerly of Hannibal, Mo. passed away at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Parkside Manor in Columbia, Mo.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pastor David Scott will officiate.

A private family visitation will held at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Marilyn was born on March 9, 1951, in Hannibal, Mo. the daughter of William Clifford and Evelyn May (Sultzman) Simms.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Elliff on February 14, 1986, in Hannibal, Mo. He survives her.

Other survivors include one daughter, Janiene Shroyer and husband Gerald of Weston, Mo; one stepson, Shawn Elliff and wife Cary of Lee's Summit, Mo; one stepdaughter, Trelah Nagy and husband Paul of Fairway, Ks; one brother, Randy Simms of Columbia, Mo; seven grandchildren and two nephews.

Mrs. Elliff was preceded in death by her parents.

Marilyn graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1969. She went on to further her education at Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. Marilyn previously worked as a secretary at Continental Cement before her health forced her into an early retirement.

Mrs. Elliff cherished the time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Marilyn was a Methodist by faith.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Elliff, Paul Nagy, Jackson Elliff, Bill Simms, Christian Nagy, Anton Nagy and Gerald Shroyer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
