Helen Bogue Obituary

Helen Alexander Bogue, 91, Hannibal, Mo. formerly of New London, Mo. passed away at 8:55 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016, at Beth Haven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, in Hannibal. Rev. Bob Hoehn will officiate. Burial will be in the Salt Lick Baptist Cemetery in Spalding, Mo.

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Helen was born on July 29, 1925, in Hannibal, Mo. the daughter of Russell M. and Rheuby C. (Boling) Jackson, Sr.

She was previously married to William Edward Alexander on October 28, 1945, in Hannibal, Mo. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1997. She later married Clarence Bogue on June 25, 1998, in New London, Mo. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2014.

Survivors include three sons, Russell E. Alexander (Rickey) of Huntington, Mo., Allen J. Alexander (Linda Sue) of Sun City Center, Fl., and Wm. Mark Alexander (Lori) of Center, Mo; five daughters, Joyce Drebes of Hannibal, Mo., Sue Foote of Hannibal, Mo., Janie Johnson (Dick) of Perry, Mo., Kathy Woodhurst of Curryville, Mo., and Barbara Saul (Kevin) of New London, Mo; fifteen grandchildren, Matt Drebes, Eric Drebes, Wes Johnson, D.K. Johnson, Jacqueline Sharkey, Scott Alexander, John Alexander, Rebecca Burkala, Joanie Loyd, Amy Branham, Aaron Woodhurst, Brandon Saul, Jeana Dennis, Sarah Woodrow, and Jill Alexander, twenty six great grandchildren, and one nephew, Dr. David Jackson, D.D.S. (Lillian) of Hannibal, Mo.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Bogue was preceded in death by one brother, Russell M. Jackson, Jr., one sister, Ruthie Jackson, one sister-in-law, Isabelle Jackson, three sons-in-law, Garry Drebes, Brooks Foote, and Russell Woodhurst, and one nephew, Phillip Jackson.

Mrs. Bogue was a homemaker, she loved to take care of her family. She was a member of the Rensselaer Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, especially in Canada, traveling and shopping, especially at Dollar General and Big Lots. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Mrs. Bogue was a member of Salt Lick Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Scott Alexander, Matt Drebes, Eric Drebes, Wes Johnson, D.K. Johnson, Brandon Saul, and John Alexander.

Honorary pallbearers will be the remainder of Helen's grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salt Lick Cemetery Association, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
