Donalda R. (Donnie) Webber, 68, of Hannibal died at 1:13 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Hannibal Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the First Christian Church, Rev. Steve Barker officiating. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the First Christian Church. Smith Funeral Home & Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Webber was born July 21, 1943, at Baker, Oregon, to Harry and Pegge Kirkland Weatherman. She married William J. (Bill) Webber, July 31, 1965, in Spokane, Wash., at Fairchild Air Force Base and he survives. Other survivors include, one daughter, Regina (Jamie) Fenton of Hannibal, one son, Joseph (Kim) Webber of Neosho, Mo.; three grandchildren, Maggie, Morgan and Jacob Caldwell of Hannibal. Also surviving are two sisters, Peggy Stichler of Crescent, Oregon, and Maralee (John) Davis of Arcata, Calf., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donnie retired from full time nursing following 12 years in the Blessed Beginnings Department at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Il. During her nursing career she managed the merger of the OB departments of Levering and St. Elizabeth Hospitals and the eventual move to Hannibal Regional Hospital. Donnie currently was a part time member of the adjunct faculty at Hannibal LaGrange University Nursing School. She graduated from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1965, at Spokane, Wash. She received her B.S. in nursing from Quincy College in 1985. Donnie was a member and Elder of First Christian Church, member of the American Nurses Association and previously served on the board of directors of the Missouri Nurses Association.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church for Sarah’s Place. Pallbearers will be Al Kennett, Jamie Fenton, Harry Saunders, John Davis, Gus Bader and Chuck Reutenauer.
